David Leroy Lykins

David L. Lykins of Trenton, Nebraska passed away Sunday, December 29, 2019 at Community Hospital in McCook, Nebraska. He was 75 years old. David was born on October 22, 1944 in Blythe, California to parents Monta Ray and Frances (Mason) Lykins. He served in the United States Army until his honorable discharge. David worked at the Climax Mine as a mechanic and the Colorado Department of Highways in the maintenance department. He loved to garden and shoot pool with his friends while sipping a cold beer. he was loved by his family who miss him dearly. Preceding him in death were his parents; wife, Phyllis; and daughters, Pamela and Donna. David is survived by his wife Barbara Lykins of Trenton; son, Monta Ray (daughter-in-law, Samantha) Lykins; brothers, Gary Lykins and Bill Lykins; son-in-law, John Leahy; eight grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. Memorials may be given in his name. Memorial services will be Friday, January 3, 2019, 11:00 a.m., at St. James Catholic Church in Trenton with Father Christopher Miller officiating.
