David Wayne Henne

David Wayne Henne passed away Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at his home in McCook. He was 64 years old. David was born on April 8, 1954 at Ainsworth, Nebraska to parents, Gene and Dorothy Esther (Huggins) Henne. He attended Valentine schools. In the late 1970s David started working for Missouri Valley Construction. In 1979, he moved to McCook where he was employed by Frick and Henthorne Sand and Gravel. In 1989, he started working for Kliens Motor and Electric until his health would not allow him to work. David loved people and was always ready for a cup of coffee with friends, conversation or a good laugh. He enjoyed his many animals including his dogs and feeding the wild squirrels, rabbits, and deer. In his free time he enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. He took special pride in his yard and garden often sharing his produce with neighbors and friends. David was very mechanical and could make anything run or drivable. During the Christmas season David loved putting up Christmas lights and decorating his yard. Preceding him in death were his parents, Gene and Dorothy; step-mother, Bonnie (Kloppel) Henne; step-father, Gary Ryschon; and brother, Robert "Bob" Henne. Survivors include his sons, Travis Henne and wife, Angela, Gene Henne all of McCook and Dawson Henne of McDonald, KS; step-son, James Vollmer and Sandra of Overton, NE; sisters, Pamela Sloan of Springview, NE and Marilyn Ness of Box Elder, SD; three grandchildren, Kaileigh, Nevaeh, and Isaac; two step-grandsons, Cameron and Dean Vollmer of Lincoln; numerous family and a host of friends. Memorials may be given in his name.
