Darrell D. Wulf passed away Sunday, Sept. 24, 2017 at home.
Darrell was born May 17, 1937, in the Goodland, Kan., area to Emery and Elsie Wulf. He moved to a farm north of Cambridge with his family when he was a junior in high school. Darrell graduated from Cambridge High School in 1955 and entered the National Guard. Following his service, Darrell was employed at Beardmore Chevrolet in Cambridge. He then managed the Cambridge Public Swimming Pool while working at the Cambridge CO-OP.
Darrell married Alice Foster on Oct. 8, 1961, and to this union three children were born: Darren, Douglas, and Delisa. Darrell entered his lifelong career of farming in 1963 when he and Alice moved to a farm south of Cambridge. In 1971, Darrell and Alice purchased a farm north of town. Here they raised their family and engrained in them a love for nature and a respect for hard work.
Darrell embodied the characteristics of a true farmer. He loved to work the land and raise livestock. He was never seen in public without his Levis and cowboy boots. He had a passion for family, classic cars, and antiques. He was happiest when he was around all of these.
Darrell was proceeded in death by his parents; his parents-in-law, Loyal and Winifred Foster; brothers-in-law, Dale Pearson and John Foster; and sister-in-law, Charlene Foster.
Darrell is survived by his wife of nearly 56 years, Alice; sons, Darren and wife, Trisha of Cambridge and Douglas and wife, Kellie of Kearney, and daughter, Delisa and husband, David of Littleton, Colo.;, grandchildren, Darian, DeLaina, Dalton, Erica, Samuel, Hayden, and Hannah; sister, Donna Pearson of Cambridge; and brother-in-law, Jim Foster and wife, Bev of Lexington.
Memorials may be given in his name to Cambridge Volunteer Fire Department or Cambridge Rescue.
