Darrell Lee Wilhelm Sr.

Darrell Lee Wilhelm, Sr., age 73, of McCook, passed away at the Community Hospital of McCook on November 9, 2021. He was born In McCook, NE on November 8, 1948, to Donald and Beth (Relph) Wilhelm. He attended and graduated from McCook High School in 1966. Lee then completed a year of College at McCook Community College studying business. He enlisted in the Nebraska National Guard and served for 6 years. Lee married Theresa Swayze on May 11, 2010 in McCook. Lee was employed by Koch Industries for 14 years as a floater operator and later by Ag Valley COOP for over 20 years. He enjoyed gardening, growing okra, peppers, and potatoes. He enjoyed pheasant hunting, deer hunting and being out of doors. Lee enjoyed being at home most of the time, and liked to go on excursions around the county to look at crops. He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Beth; brother, Les. Lee is survived by his wife, Theresa of McCook, NE; three children: Darrell Jr. of Lincoln, NE, Marcia (Eric) Washkuhn of Omaha, Staci (Jeff) Bedel of Omaha; stepson, Seth (Maria) Sughroue of Vida, OR; two sisters: Sandra (Bill) Gotchall and Ann (Ed) Doyle all of McCook, NE; ten grandchildren; one great grandchild. In keeping with Lees wishes of cremation a Graveside Service will be held at the Danbury-Marion Cemetery on Monday, November 15, 2021, at 10:00 AM. Military Honors will be conducted by the Nebraska Army Honors Detail and the Beaver Valley American Legion. Friends may leave on-line condolences at herrmannfh.com.
