Dale E. Pearson

Dale E. Pearson, age78 of Cambridge, died at the Tri-Valley Health System Long Term Care. He was born southwest of Cambridge in FurnasCounty on the Family farm. His parents were John C. and Cora (Fichtner) Pearson. Dale attended and graduated from CambridgeHigh School in 1950. He was drafted into the US Army to serve his country in September 1952 and served till June 0f 1954, serving during the Korean War. After his return from service he continued to farm. On January 19, 1958 he was united in marriage to Donna Wulf, in Cambridge at the MethodistChurch. Dale farmed for a while, later he worked construction for Glen Moore and Kliens construction and joined his brother Don, to start Pearson Brothers Construction Company. Dale used his construction and wood working skills to build many homes in and around Cambridge. During this time in April of 1970, Dale also worked as a substitute mail carrier and later in February of 1980, he became a full time rural carrier. He retired after 31 years as letter carrier on November 30, 2001. . Dale was a member of the TrinityUnitedMethodistChurch for over 59 years. He served as a trustee for the church board. Dale was a member of the Rural Letter Carriers Association. In his spare time he enjoyed wood working, helping on the farm with the cattle, hunting and fishing. Dale could be seen at most sporting events around Cambridge. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother: Don and brother-in-law Dick Edwards. He is survived by his wife Donna of Cambridge, 2 sons: David of Durango, Co and Dan and wife Kim of Cambridge: 2 grandsons and a sister: Belva Edwards of Lincoln, NE. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 17, 2010 at 11:00 AM at the TrinityUnitedMethodistChurch in Cambridge. Pastor Sherry Sklenar will officiate the services. Military Honors will be conducted graveside by the Cambridge American Legion Post #199. Memorial may be left to the TrinityUnitedMethodistChurch, the CambridgeSeniorCenter or to the Cambridge Manor.
