Dale Arthur Leibbrandt

Dale Arthur Leibbrandt of Danbury passed away Monday, May 2, 2016 at Community Hospital in McCook. He was 90 years old. Dale was born in McCook, Nebraska to parents, William and Bertha (Boll) Leibbrandt on September 8, 1925. On June 1, 1946, Dale was united in marriage to Darlene Eckhardt of Culbertson at Oberlin, Kansas. To this union four children were born. The couple made their home in Danbury where Dale was a self-employed mechanic for many years. He later became the custodian for the Danbury Schools until his retirement. Dale loved to hunt and was known for his artistic abilities. He could create anything just by looking at it. His ultimate joy was spending time with his children and grandchildren. Preceding him in death were his parents, William and Bertha Leibbrandt; son, Lynn J. Leibbrandt; sister, Lucille Fidler; and two brothers, Clarence and Wilbert Leibbrandt. Survivors include his wife of almost 70 years, Darlene Leibbrandt of Danbury; children, LaVern Leibbrandt and wife, Laurie, Rocky Leibbrandt and wife, Judy, and Luann Leibbrandt (Marty Merryman) all of Danbury; grandchildren, Stacy Strand, Tracy (Chaz) Leibbrandt, Tiffany (Alan) Hardy, Michelle (Brent) Townsend, Anna (Colby) Larson and Conor (Rachel) Corcoran; seven great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Jean Leibbrandt of North Platte, Geneva Eckhardt of McCook and Marion Roach of Littleton, CO; and brother-in-law, Dave (Florence) Eckhardt of Salt Lake City, UT; numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of family and friends. Memorials may be given in his name. Visitation will be Thursday, May 5, 2016, from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Herrmann Jones Funeral Chapel in McCook. Graveside services will be Friday, May 6, 2016, 11:00 a.m. at Memorial Park Cemetery with Pastor Tom Albertson officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
