Dale Joe Beals

October 24, 1943 — May 5, 2015

Dale Joseph Beals of Cambridge, born on October 24, 1943 in McCook, to Joseph Ralph and Nancy Jane (Richey) Beals lost his 33 year battle with Multiple Sclerosis on Tuesday, May 5, 2015 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney.

He grew up on the family farm south of Cambridge and attended Cambridge Public Schools. After graduating from the University of Nebraska he began his teaching career as a Vocational Agriculture teacher at Holbrook. He then moved on to Elwood. After receiving his Masters Degree he began his career at NCTA in Curtis, Nebraska. Throughout his teaching career he was very active in FFA. He retired in 2003 due to his problems with MS. During these years he touched many lives.

While teaching in Holbrook Joe married Janet Meyers. They later were divorced. During his active years he enjoyed fishing, water skiing, snow skiing and golf. He also enjoyed woodworking and camping. After moving to Curtis he became very active with the Easter Pageant.

He was preceded in death by his parents Ralph and Jane Beals and nephew Marty Crampton.

He leaves to mourn his three sisters, Marilyn (Ed) Kester of Cambridge, Kathleen (Kenneth) Crampton of Colby, Kansas, and Celia (Jim) Liffrig of Holdrege; numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the Curtis Easter Pageant, Multiple Sclerosis Society, or charity of ones choice.

Rosary will be Friday, May 8, 2015, 1:30 p.m. at St. James Catholic Church in Curtis, NE. Mass of Christian burial will follow at 2:30 p.m. Burial will be in the Arbor Cemetery at Stockville, Nebraska. The family invites you to join them for fellowship and refreshments at the Stockville fairgrounds hall following the internment. Friends may leave on-line condolences at lockenour.com.
