Dale Arthur Bamesberger, age 86, of Indianola passed peacefully on Monday, May 18, 2020. He was surrounded by loved ones at the Bamesberger farm when he entered into his eternal home of joy and rest. Dale was born on the third-generation farm in Red Willow County on April 11, 1934. He would till and tend this same land for the rest of his working days. Dale graduated from Lebanon High School in 1951, working briefly for the Bureau of Reclamation at the Indianola POW camp where he met his future bride. Dale married Janet Elaine DeMay on August 5, 1956. He then served his country with the Navy Seabees from 1956-1958, finishing his service in California where his first daughter was born. He returned to the family farm, where his youngest three children were born. The Bamesberger farm was a bustling place with varied crops and livestock. Dale raised wheat and milo. He received conservation awards for his forward thinking and tree planting. He also enjoyed growing and fattening cattle. Dale spent much of his free time with his kids and grandkids. He was involved in their horse 4H activities, brought them along for chores, and took them sledding and ice skating when the weather permitted. Dale said the key to his happy marriage of 63 years was dancing. He and Janet toured the Midwest to folk dance, square dance, round dance, and ballroom dance. He loved dancing with his children and his grandchildren. At the backbone of Dales life of farming and family was his vibrant faith in Jesus. He was a faithful lifetime member of Peace Lutheran Church in McCook. Dale enjoyed many various hobbies across the yearshunting and horses, reading and writing, and studying regional/family history. You could find him at almost every local auction, finding something interesting to haul home. Preceding him in death were his parents, Carl and Emilie "Millie" (Fitchner) Bamesberger; sisters Arlene Clapp, Norma Burton, Ruth Shields, and Iris Rowley; and brother Kenneth. Dale is survived by his wife, Janet Bamesberger; children, Joanne (Steve) Perea of Ozark, AR, Phil (Janice) Bamesberger of Indianola, NE, Marcie (Todd) Barnes of St. Charles, MO, and Matt (Barbara) Bamesberger of Lincoln, NE; sister, Lois Leuking of Fallbrook, CA; 11 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
