Dale Adams passed peacefully at his home in McCook, NE on February 14, 2015 with family at his side. Dale was born in Culbertson, Nebraska; the son of Edward J. and Katherine (Eckhardt) Adams on July 23, 1931. He graduated from Culbertson High School in 1948. Dale was baptized and confirmed at St. John's Lutheran Church, also in Culbertson, Nebraska. Dale joined the U.S. Navy in 1949 and remained in the service until discharged in 1953. He served during the Korean conflict. After his discharge from the U.S. Navy, he returned to Culbertson and on June 6, 1954, married Clara Lebsack at the German Congregational Church in McCook, Nebraska. To this union were born 2 sons, Jeffery Dale and Douglas Ray. Dale was employed by Northwestern Bell on May 18, 1953 and continued to work for them until his retirement 40 years later on May 18, 1993. Dale loved the outdoors; he was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was instrumental in organizing the Southwest Nebraska Rifle and Pistol Club. He was also active as a hunter safety instructor. He was a member of the First Congregational Church in McCook, Nebraska for over 50 years. As a member of the church he served as a deacon, usher, and a member of the Board of Trustees. Dale's greatest loves were his wife Clara, and his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers-in-law Sammy, Henry, Raymond, Carl, Artie Lebsack; Fred and Conrad Jr. Lebsack; Rueben and John Hoff; and Elmer Krumme; sisters-in-law Edna Lebsack, Martha Boyner, Marie Sell, Kay Berg, Virginia Lebsack, Irene Lebsack and Elizabeth McKee. Dale is survived by Clara, his wife of 61 years, 2 sons, Jeffery Dale and wife Susan Adams of Lincoln, Nebraska; Douglas Ray and wife Pamela Adams of Keller, Texas, five grandchildren: Timoree Adams Klingler and husband Chris of Lincoln; Hilary Adams Everett of Lincoln, Mallory Adams of Omaha, Wesley Adams and wife Brooke of Whitefish Montana, and Joslyn Adams of Keller Texas, five great grandchildren; sister Kathleen Krumme of Fairbury, brother-in-law Harry Lebsack and wife Mary, sister-in-law Phyllis Lebsack all of McCook; many nieces, nephews, relatives and a host of friends. Services will be held at 1030 a.m. on Thursday, February 19, 2015 at First Congregational Church with Pastor Steve Bales and the Reverend Jeff Adams officiating. Inurnment will be held on Friday, February 20th at 11:00 a.m. with military honors at Memorial Park Cemetery in McCook, Nebraska. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials to be designated to Anderson cancer center at McCook Community Hospital, or the First Congregational Church of McCook Nebraska. Family visitation will be Wednesday, February 18, from 5 until 7pm at the Herman-Jones Funeral Home.
