Clairene Weimer

     Clairene Ann Brunkhorst, daughter of Ernest and Sophia (Haarberg) Brunkhorst, was born on April 24, 1935, and initially resided on a farm near Hamlet, Nebraska. She had four siblings, Ansel, Ivan, an infant brother, and Eulene Busking all preceding her in death. God’s eternal salvation was bestowed by His grace to Clairene in baptism in the name of the Father, and the Son, and of the Holy Spirit on May 12, 1935. She was confirmed in her faith on August 10, 1947.

     Clairene graduated from Wauneta High School, class of 1953. She was married in Holy Matrimony to LeeRoy Weimer on May 1, 1955, at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Wauneta, Nebraska. They were blessed with five children, Katherine (Stephen Winscot) of Oxford, Lon of Hamlet, Carol Sue (deceased), Monte (Tina) of Pittsboro, Indiana, Nancy (Hugh Anderson) of Benkelman. The couple first lived in Greeley, Colorado and Morrill, Nebraska before moving to Hamlet where they established a family farm. Clairene and LeeRoy shared 63 years of marriage until his death on July 2, 2018.

     Clairene had a quite steadfast faith in the gifts of grace offered to her in Word and Sacrament. She was eager to share the gospel to all through her words, actions, and prayers. She taught Lutheran Confirmation at Redeemer Lutheran Church for 37 years. She always planned and greeted her family and friends visiting her house with fresh cookies, spud-nuts, potato salad, or other favorites of whomever was visiting. Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ has destroyed death and brought life and immortality to light through the Gospel. Let us remember with thanksgiving what God has done through His servant Clairene Weimer.

     Clairene was greatly blessed and treasured, eleven grandchildren: Angela (Jordan) Clark, Amberly (Matt) Krickbaum, Andrew (Traci) Winscot, Katelyn (Nate) Redman, Allison (Jacob) Spencer, Jacob (Allie) Weimer, Ethan Weimer, Tara (Nathan) Mueller, Connor Abella, Ben (Brooke) Anderson and Josh (Jordyn) Anderson; 19 great-grandchildren: Claire, Emma, Isaiah, and Olivia Clark; Hannah and Charlotte Krickbaum; Audrey and Mason Redman; Ellie, Reagan, and Leah Spencer; Kollyns, Kashton and Kolbie Winscot; Georgia and Bennett Weimer; Andrew and Aidyn Anderson; an upcoming baby Anderson; Godchild Joyce Richter; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

     On October 8, 2025, at the age of 90, Clairene received the call she had been eagerly awaiting from the Lord. What joy to be lifted from this world of tears and into His marvelous light! Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints (Psalm 116:15).

     Memorial Services will be held Saturday morning, October 18, 2025, 10:00 AM (Mountain Time) at Redeemer Lutheran Church of Wauneta, Nebraska, with Pastor Keith Wellman officiating. Inurnment will follow at Riverside Cemetery, Wauneta.
