Cecilia Adams

Cecilia Pearl Adams, a lifelong resident of Hitchcock County, Nebraska, passed away on October 1, 2020 at the El Dorado Manor in Trenton, Nebraska. She was 98 years of age. She was born on December 5, 1921 to Joseph B. and Anna Mary (Seybold) Frank in Hitchcock County. She grew up on the family farm in the Cornell Community in Southern Hitchcock County. Cecilia attended country school and stayed busy helping the family on the farm. She attended high school in Trenton and graduated with the class of 1940. On September 2, 1941, Cecilia was united in marriage to Robert L. Adams in McCook, Nebraska. The couple made a home in the Cornell Community where they farmed and welcomed their son, Robert to the family. Cecilia loved the outdoors. She enjoyed helping Robert on the farm and cared for a large garden. In addition to caring for her garden, canning, and putting up her produce she also took immaculate care of the family yard; the family would joke that she spent more on fertilizer for the yard then they did for their crops each year. The family attended St. James Catholic Church in Trenton. Cecilia and Robert moved to Trenton in 1986 where she cared for a slightly smaller garden and spent what free time she had playing Bingo and attending her grandchildrens many events and activities. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Robert in 2003, and her sisters, Eleanor Stolte and Evelyn Adams. Survivors include her son, Robert Adams and wife, Vickie, of Trenton; grandchildren: Shawn Adams and wife, Tracy, of Trenton; Stacey Hutto and husband, Eric, of Trenton; Kelsey Hennard and husband, John, of Llaves, New Mexico; great-grandchildren: Taylor (Alex) Knowles, Erin Adams, Rylie Adams, Darian Hutto, and Braydn Hutto; great-great-grandchildren: Ellie, Eden, Ava, Emree and Kayson; as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends. A rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. (CT) on Thursday evening, October 8, 2020 at St. James Catholic Church in Trenton with Father Christopher Miller leading. Visitation will take place prior to the Rosary beginning at 2:00 p.m. (CT) on Thursday at St. James Catholic Church in Trenton. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. (CT), Friday, October 9, 2020 at St. James Catholic Church in Trenton with Father Christopher Miller Celebrating. Burial will follow services in the Trenton Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer's Association Nebraska Chapter and can be given to the family in Cecilia's name or given directly at www.alz.org/nebraska.
