Cecelia D. Felker

Cecelia Felker age 87, died at Hillcrest Nursing Home on Monday, December 29, 2014. She was born in Portland, OR on November 23, 1927 to Fred and Matilda (Deutsch) McDonnell. The family moved to Oconto, NE when Cecelia was 5 years old. She attended and graduated from Oconto High School. She went to Kearney State Teachers College earning her degree. Cecelia taught in Merna, and Culbertson, NE. On December 28, 1955, Cecelia was united in marriage to Ralph Felker in North Platte, NE to this union five children were born: Gregg, Dean Burt, Bryce and Jeannie. The couple made their home in Culbertson. Cecelia was a member of the St. John's Lutheran Church. Cecelia is preceded in death by her parents; infant daughter: Jeannie; and a brother: Joseph McDonnell. Survivors include her husband: Ralph of McCook; 4 sons: Gregg and wife Lorre of ONeil, NE; Dean of Hastings; Burt and wife Lisa; Bryce and wife Mindy all of McCook, NE; 4 grandchildren: Bryan; Breanna; Madison; Hunter 1 brother: Robert and wife Verna McDonnell of Talent, OR; 1 sister: Ellen Lunch of Tyler, TX. Visitation for Cecelia will be held on Friday, January 2, 2015 from 9:00 AM till 6:00 PM. To comply with Cecelia's wishes a private family service will be held and burial will be in the Culbertson Cemetery with Pastor Bradley Rick officiating. Memorial may be left in Cecelia's name to either the St. John's Lutheran Church or the Culbertson Library. Friends may leave on-line condolences at herrmannfh.com.
