Carolyn Schmidt

     Carolyn went to her heavenly home on Friday, September 11, 2026. She was 82 years of age.

     Carolyn Ruth Schmidt was born on June 19, 1944, to Glen and Alta (Helen) Swayne in Lexington, NE. Carolyn attended North Star Elementary School in Frontier County and graduated from Curtis High School in 1962.

     Carolyn met the love of her life, Myron, in Cambridge, NE and they were united in marriage on July 26, 1971. The couple made their home in McCook, NE. Carolyn worked at the C-Store, Sitel and Walmart along with doing the weekly bulletin for Our Saviors Lutheran Church, where she was a member for 40 years.

     Carolyn enjoyed gardening, playing Bingo and collecting and spending time with her grandchildren.

     She is preceded in death by her husband, Myron; son, Aaron and her parents, Glen and Alta Swayne; sister, Rita Schaeffer and sister-in-law, Marie Foley.

     Those left to celebrate Carolyn’s life are her grandchildren, Izabella Schmidt and her significant other, Dalton Seybold, Nathaniel Schmidt and his fiancé, Lillian Allen; sister, Lila Lipska; niece Karen Lipska and her children, John and Kyle King; nephew, Robert and Karla Lipska, John Foley and his wife, Anita, and their children, Brighton Walkington- Foley and Dylan Foley; nephew, Troy Farr, and his children Andreau, Alex, Abby; as well as extended family, Amanda and Jon Keneipp and Quinton Keneipp; Misty and husband, Michael Muehlhausen.

     Visitation will be held on Monday, September 21, 2026, from 10:00 AM - 7:00 PM at Herrmann-Jones Funeral Chapel in McCook. Carolyn's family will greet friends from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM

     Funeral Services are scheduled for 11:00 AM on Tuesday morning, September 22, 2026, at Peace Lutheran Church in McCook. Burial in Memorial Park Cemetery in McCook will follow services.
