Caroline L. Kircher

Caroline Lucille (OBrien) Kircher of Indianola passed away Saturday, May 5, 2018 at Cambridge Memorial Hospital surrounded by her family. She was 82 years old. Caroline was born on May 30, 1935 in Cambridge to parents, John and Etta (Brinkman) OBrien. As a child she attended country school near Cambridge. She graduated from Cambridge High School with the class of 1952. On June 18, 1956, she was united in marriage to Gayle Kircher at St. Patricks Catholic Church in McCook. They moved to San Diego, CA after their marriage. In 1959, they returned to the farm near Indianola where they raised their four children, Douglas, Joan, Susan and Angela. Caroline was a busy homemaker, farm wife and mother. She was a member of St. Catherines Catholic Church and Altar Society. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society and participated in the Good Friend Program at Indianola schools for nineteen years. She enjoyed crocheting, cooking and baking, working Sudoku puzzles, and spending time with family and friends. Preceding her in death were her parents, John and Etta OBrien; brother, John OBrien; and sister, Patricia Stastka. Survivors include her husband, Gayle Kircher of Indianola; son, Douglas Kircher of Lincoln; daughters, Joan and husband, Paul Webb, of Phoenix, AZ, Susan and husband, Jeff Knight, of Arlington, VA and Angela Kircher of Dallas, TX; grandchildren, Caroline and Robert Knight and Parker Kircher; numerous family and a host of friends. Memorials may be given in her name. Visitation will be Monday, May 7, 2018 at Herrmann Jones Funeral Chapel, McCook, from 10:00 a.m. 5:00 p.m. Rosary will be recited Monday, May 7, 7:00 p.m. at St. Catherines Catholic Church in Indianola. Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Catherines Catholic Church in Indianola with Father Greg Pawloski as Celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Catherines Cemetery, Indianola. Herrmann Jones Funeral Chapel of McCook is entrusted with arrangements.
