Carol 'Joan' Rinehart

Carol "Joan" Rinehart passed away Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at her home at Brookdale, McCook, Nebraska surrounded by her family. She was 83 years old. Joan was born on October 12, 1933 at the family farm near Indianola, Nebraska to parents, Clyde Alvin and Hazelle Lillian (Hauxwell) Emrich. She graduated from Indianola High School in 1951. On November 18, 1953, she was united in marriage to Donnie Franklin Rinehart at her home. They made their home in the Indianola community where Joan was a homemaker and busy mother of four children. She was a dedicated member of the Indianola Christian Church where she served as a missionary, taught Vacation Bible School and helped with all the other activities with the church. She was also a member of Eastern Star. Joan spent hours working in her large vegetable garden and flower beds. She also enjoyed sewing, crocheting, crafts and collecting chickens. She was faithful in attending her childrens activities. Joan also found time to work at Wal-Mart in the crafts department. Preceding her in death were her parents, Clyde and Hazelle Emrich and husband, Donnie Rinehart on August 3, 1983. Surviving her are her children, Julia and husband, Mike Weskamp, of Aurora, CO, Terry Rinehart and wife, Vanessa, of Burlington, CO, Edward Rinehart and wife, Jeannine, of McCook and Trudy and husband, Chris Daniel, of North Platte; two sisters, Ruth Graham of Chandler, AZ and Donna and husband, Dale Fletcher, of Arnold; two brothers, Frank Emrich and wife, Linda, of Spokane, WA and Robert Emrich and wife, Linda, of Powderly, TX; 12 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren with one more on the way; numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given in her name. Visitation will be Thursday, October 12, 2017, from 10:00 a.m. 7:00 p.m. with family present to greet friends from 5:00 p.m. 7:00 p.m. at Herrmann Jones Funeral Chapel, McCook, NE. Funeral service will be Friday, October 13, 2017, 2:00 p.m. at Indianola Christian Church with Mike Searcey officiating. Burial will follow in the Indianola Cemetery. Herrmann Jones Funeral Chapel of McCook is entrusted with arrangements. Visitation
