On February 3, 2026, Betty Marie Leibrandt went to be with our Lord and Savior. She left behind a legacy of love. Betty was a lifelong resident of McCook. She moved to McCook as a little girl and graduated from McCook High in 1964. She raised her family on a farm southwest of McCook for over thirty years. She later lived in town.
One of her favorite songs was ‘LOVE SWEET LOVE’, knowing that’s what the world needs now. She loved the color purple and butterflies.
Betty loved many things in her life, time on the farm with all the babies, kittens’, calves and pups. She loved teaching vacation bible study at Peace Lutheran Church. Betty had the knack of making everyone feel loved.
Mom swooned over Elvis, loved his music and traveled to Graceland. She recently celebrated her 80th birthday in December with an Elvis impersonator which made her day special.
In her own words, she’d say her life was purdy good.
Her greatest love was family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Allen and Marie Wilson; brother, Glenn Wilson; her husband, Larry Leibrandt; and in-laws, Leroy and Lois Leibrandt.
She is survived by her brother, Richard Wilson and wife, Jean; sister, Carol Dugger; son, Michael Leibrandt; daughters: Lisa Leibrandt, Larissa Fagundes and husband, John, Lydia Tilton and husband, Scott, Laura Leibrandt and partner, Ivan Trail and Paula Leibrandt; grandchildren: Anna Leibrandt, Karlye Leibrandt, Kaitlyn Silmon and husband, Anthony, Tyler Tilton, Austin Tilton, Cody Murray and wife, Destiny, Madison Murray ,Cassy Fagundes, Tori Fagundes, and Kiersten Fagundes; great-grandchildren: Owen, Ollie, Eleanor, Ruby, Everly, and Baby 2 Be, Laine.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 8, 2026 from 3:00 PM - 5:00 PM at Herrmann-Jones Funeral Chapel in McCook.
Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 AM on Monday morning, February 9, 2026 at McCook Christian Church with Pastor Tyler McCarty officiating. Please honor Betty by wearing bright colors to services. Burial in Memorial Park Cemetery in McCook will follow services
