Beauford Beau E. Gilbert age 91 of McCook, NE died on Sunday September 29, 2013. He was born in Frankfort, MI on July 25, 1922 to Ernest and Ethel (Osgood) Gilbert. He graduated from Frankfort High School in 1941. He joined the Army Air Corp October 31, 1942 during WWII, serving in the Western Pacific and Air Offensive of Japan. He was Honorably Discharged as a SGT in February 13, 1946. He was stationed in McCook, Nebraska at the Army-Air Base where he met and married his wife Jan Gochis on May 24, 1945. She preceded him in death in 1994.The moved to Jackson MI for two years then moved to McCook, NE for the remainder of his life. He worked at the Olympia for his father-in-law Alex Gochis for many years. He also owned the Bargain House Antique Store. In 1958 he and his wife Jean purchased the Mode O Day womens apparel store which they ran until retiring in 1986. He loved to fish and hunt pheasants and had a passion for cars either new or old. Beau remarried in 1996 to Marion Carter and she preceded him in death in 2011. Beau was a member of the VFW, American Legion, Elks, Eagles. He was preceded in death by his parents, wives: Jean and Marion; 5 siblings: Cleve , Steve and Harry Gilbert Iva Hunt and Pearl Schlueter. He is survived by his daughter: Suzan Jean and husband Larry Weber of Franktown, CO; son: Michael and wife Janice of McCook; 6 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. Funeral services will be held at the St. Albans Episcopal Church in McCook, NE on Thursday, October3, 2013 at 1:00PM with Father Rick Moon officiating. Inurnment will be in the Columbarium of St. Albans Church. Memorials may be left in his name at the Herrmann-Jones Funeral Chapel in McCook, NE. Friends may
