Arlene Lasneski

Arlene Mary Lasneski, 81, of McCook, passed away on May 15, 2021 at Community Hospital in McCook. She was born on August 14, 1939 to Henry and Mary (Andrijeski) Pick at home in Quick, Nebraska in Frontier County. Arlene attended school at District 101; a one room schoolhouse in Frontier County for eight years. She then attended school in McCook and graduated from McCook High School with the class of 1957. Arlene married Jerome Lasneski on January 6, 1962 and to this union a son, Darrell was born. Arlene worked at Mary Lanning Hospital in Hastings from 1970-1986. She later worked at Community Hospital in McCook and Willow Ridge (currently Kinship Pointe) in McCook as a part of the housekeeping staff. Arlene was a member of the St. Patrick Altar Society and St. Patrick Catholic Church in McCook. She delivered meals on wheels from 2003-2013. In 2014 she moved to Willow Ridge where she made new friends and enjoyed playing bingo, pinochle, and the other adventures of the residents. Arlene was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; brother, Wayne Pick; and a nephew, Bruce Pick. She is survived by her son, Darrell (Carol) Lasneski of Foley, Alabama; sister-in-law, Donna Pick of McCook; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 20, 2021 from 10:00 A.M. - 7:00 P.M. at Herrmann-Jones Funeral Chapel in McCook. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 P.M., Thursday evening, at Herrmann-Jones Funeral Chapel in McCook. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 A.M., Friday morning, May 21, 2021 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in McCook. Interment will follow services in St. Patrick Calvary Cemetery in McCook. Memorials may be given to the family of Arlene Lasneski; a contribution will be given to an organization that works to advance research and treatment of mental illness.
