Alta Mae Corder

Alta Mae Corder of Cambridge, NE,our beloved Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother passed away September 26, 2010 at Cambridge hospital. Alta Mae was born April 23, 1922 in Cambridge Nebraska to Ralph and Marjorie (Hiatt) Wiedeman. She graduated from Cambridge High School in 1939. On February 3, 1945 she married Bernard Corder in McCook, Nebraska. To this union three children were born: Barry, Alan and Julie. The family resided in multiple location including Cambridge and Trenton Nebraska and Navajo Dam, New Mexico. Alta Mae enjoyed spending time with her granddaughters and great-granddaughters, playing cards, crossword puzzles, and watching the Cubs. She has good memories of being a secretary at Blanco Elementary School for several years. She was a member of D.A.R.,a charter member of the Cambridge American Legion Auxiliary, and Cambridge Hospital Auxiliary. Alta Mae was preceded in death by her parents and her husband in 2004. Alta Mae is survived by her three children Barry and wife Janeale of McCook, -NE; Alan and wife Robin of Oak Creek, WI, and Julie Corder of Colorado Springs, CO. Her five grandchildren Shannon and husband Chris Schaben, Kresta and husband James Kraucyk, Kolbri and husband Jon Martin, Kyleigh Corder, and Kaici Corder. Also by her three great grandchildren Maria Schaben, Christina Schaben, and Kenley Martin. Also, by numerous friends and family. It must be noted here that family has always been the most prized possession of Bernard and Alta Mae. Visitation will be on Monday from 3:00 PM till 9:00 PM and Tuesday from 9am to 9pm at Lockenour-Jones Mortuary in Cambridge, NE. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, September 29, 2010 at 11 am at FairviewCemetery in Cambridge. Rev William Weaver will be officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Butler Memorial Library in her name. Lockenour-Jones Mortuary in Cambridge will be in charge of arrangements, (308) 697-3838.
