Alma Jean (Ahlquist) Wilson Farr passed away Friday, July 8, 2016 at her home in North Platte, Nebraska after a courageous battle with cancer for the past 11 years. She was 60 years old. Alma was born a twin to parents Carl Eugene and Lola (Shay) Ahlquist in Lincoln, Kansas on July 31, 1955. She attended grade school and later graduated from Tescott High School, Tescott, Kansas in 1973. She continued her education at McCook Community College receiving her Associates Degree. On April 9, 1977 she was united in marriage to Steve Wilson at Tescott. He preceded her in death. On July 4, 2014 she married William Billy Lee Farr in North Platte where they made their home. Before her health prevented her from working her employment included TRW, Dayco, Alco, Frick Sand & Gravel, Paulsen Sand & Gravel and most recent Walmart. Alma was a member of United Methodist Church, McCook Eagles where she held the position of secretary for many years, North Platte Women of the Moose, VFW Auxiliary and Amvet Auxiliary. She enjoyed working in her flower garden, reading, painting, shopping and crafts. She also liked to fish and hunt. Her grandchildren were the highlight of her life. Preceding her in death were her father, Carl Eugene Ahlquist; her husband, Steve Wilson; son, Randy Dean Ahlquist; sister, Charlotte Boyle; mothers and fathers-in- law, Dwayne and Kay Wilson and Kenneth and Gwendolyn Farr. Survivors include her husband Billy Farr of North Platte; daughters, Keshia (Matthew) Neri of Grand Island and Kristina Keyser of Salina, KS; sons, Joseph Farr of Fort Collins, CO, B.J. (Slaina) Farr of Curtis, Kenneth (Angela) Farr of McCook, Benjamin Farr of McCook, Ben (Amelia) Propp of Kearney and Bobby Propp of McCook; mother, Lola Ahlquist of Tescott; four sisters, Rose (Keith) Roush of Wilson, KS, Joyce (Loren) Nail of Salina, KS, Janice (Larry) Tromble of Tescott, and her twin sister, Thelma (Mark) Vaughn of Morrisville, NC; three brothers, Charlie (Barbara) Ahlquist of Salina, KS, Allen (Betty) Ahlquist and Frank (Linda) Ahlquist all of Tescott; 27 grandchildren; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of friends. Memorials may be given in her name. Visitation will be Monday, July 11, 2016 from 3:00 p.m. 7:00 p.m. at Herrmann Jones Funeral Chapel in McCook. Friends may go online at www.herrmannfh.com to extend condolences to the family. Funeral service will be Tuesday, July 12, 2016, 11:00 a.m. at Herrmann Jones Funeral Chapel with Rev.
