Alice Faye Nelson Edwards

Alice Faye Edwards, age 84, of McCook, Nebr., passed away on November 29, 2022, at Grace Point Nursing Home in Greeley, Colorado. She was born in Norton, Kansas on November 22, 1938, to Cleo and Dorothy (Burroughs) Witt. Alice attended school in Norton.

On June 2, 1956, she was wed to Jay L. Nelson. To this union five children were born: Barbara, Teresa, Tamara, Bradley and Alan. Jay preceded her in death on December 17, 1987. On February 15, 1990, Alice wed Joseph Edwards of McCook.

Alice worked as a nurse's aide at the Cambridge Hospital. She enjoyed camping and fishing at Harry Strunk Lake, crocheting Afghans for family and her cats. Alice loved to have family dinners and spend time with grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Cleo and Dorothy; sister, Gertrude Henry; brother-in-law, Wilford Baker; sister-in-law, Joann Witt.

Alice is survived by husband, Joseph Edwards of McCook, Nebr.; three daughters, Barbara (Frank) Peluso of Loveland, Colo., Teresa (Johnny) Pineda of Loveland, Colo., Tamara (Mark) Harpst of McCook, Nebr.; two sons, Brad (Celia) Nelson of Cambridge, Nebr., Alan Nelson of Lake Havasu City, Ariz.; 13 grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; sister, Aleta Baker of Columbia, Missouri; brothers, Floyd Witt of Clayton, Kansas; Robert Witt of South Carolina.

Private graveside services will be held at the Fairview Cemetery with Jim Jones officiating. Memorials may be left in Alices name to the McCook Humane Society. Friends may leave online condolences at lockenourfh.com. Lockenour-Jones Mortuary is entrusted with arrangements.
