Alejandro C. Martinez, Jr.

Alejandro Martinez, Jr. was born to Alejandro and Lucielle (Matson) Martinez on December 23, 1977 in Benkelman, Nebraska.

Alejandro was employed at the Chief Restaurant in McCook as well as Sears and most recently Taco John’s, also in McCook. He loved time spent outdoors. Two of his favorite pastimes were camping and fishing. Alejandro’s sense of humor will be missed by all those that knew and loved him. He enjoyed making others laugh and shared his gift through stand-up comedy shows.

Alejandro passed away Friday morning, May 9, 2025 at CHI Bergan Mercy Hospital in Omaha. He was 47 years old.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Cecilia Ruby; brother-in-law, Roland Stevens; his grandparents as well as many loved aunts, uncles and cousins.

Survivors include his children: Alecia Martinez of Alda, Nebraska, Jesus Martinez of Lincoln, Nebraska, Tatiana and Tao Martinez of McCook; claimed daughter, Hailey Farr and fiancé, Blake Cole of McCook; siblings: Maria Lorena Stevens of McCook, Rachel Peters of McCook, Victor Martinez and wife, Janelle of St. Francis, Kansas, Elvis Martinez of Curtis, Nebraska, Carlos Martinez and wife, Amanda (Brown) of McCook; half-sisters, Teresa Dungan and Candy and husband, Napo Lopez, both of Grand Island, Nebraska. Alejandro will also be missed by a large extended family, including uncles, aunts, cousins, nephews, nieces and countless friends.

Cremation was chosen and a celebration of Alejandros's Life will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday afternoon, May 24, 2025 at the 4H-Building located on the Red Willow County Fairgrounds.
