Alan Roger Fitch

Alan Roger Fitch died at the Papillion Manor in Papillion, Nebraska on Sunday, June 10, 2012 at the age of 71. He was born in Oxford, Nebraska on May 23, 1941 to Faber and Venice (Taylor) Fitch. Roger as he was known grew up and attended school in Oxford. In 1959, Roger joined the US Air Force Reserve. He later went on active duty being discharged from service in 1963. Roger was stationed in Germany. Roger was employed as an auto mechanic his entire life. He was united in marriage to Billvia G. Odell on July 23, 1966. The couple moved to Houston, TX, in 1967, where Roger was offered a job. Upon retirement, Roger moved back to Nebraska, living in Holdrege for several years before moving to the Omaha area to be near family. Roger enjoyed fishing, camping and his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife: Billvia, brother: Kenneth Fitch, and 1 sister-in-law. Roger is survived by his 2 daughters: Tamra and husband Michael Lenz of Pinehurst, TX; Cherilee and husband Doug Perkins of Brenham, TX; 3 grandchildren; 1 sister: Phyllis Bennett of Loveland, CO; 4 brothers: Norman of Omaha; Lester and wife Barbara of Omaha; Jerry and wife Caroline of Commerce City, CO; Charles of Loveland, CO. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 16, 2012 at 2:00 PM at the Lockenour-Jones Mortuary of Cambridge, Nebraska, with Kieth Theobald officiating. Interment will be in the Fairview Cemetery in Cambridge.
