Adeline Friedrika Kuhlmann

Adeline Friedrika Kuhlmann, age 98, departed this earthly life on December 11, 2019 at the Hillcrest Nursing Home in McCook, NE. Adeline was born on November 19, 1921 to parents, William August and Caroline (Beckmann) Goos, in Johnson County, NE. She was baptized at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, south of Tecumseh, NE, near her family's farm. Later, her parents moved to rural Nemaha County, where she spent most of her youth. Adeline attended Sunday School & learned Catechism at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, also known as The Studheit Church. Attending a rural one room school, Adeline graduated from the eighth grade. Later that year, she was confirmed at age 13 years, a true commitment to her faith in Jesus Christ as her Savior. She met Melvin Kuhlmann at age 17 years. He courted her for two years by horse and buggy, never missing a single Wednesday evening. The couple were married on November 21, 1940. To this union were born three children: Robert, Sharon and Charles. Adeline worked faithfully alongside her husband, first in farming, later in several outside jobs. In the 1950's, she supported his partnership with his nephew, Willard, in their Construction Business. In 1959, Adeline & Mel bought the Ranch Motel & Chuck Wagon Cafe' just outside of McCook, where Adeline was the chief cook. Later the couple pursued an Amway business where they found great success. Adeline was a devoted wife, and mother. Her hobbies were quilting, crocheting and playing cards with many friends and family. She was an avid supporter of BINGO. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 65 years, Melvin, in 2006, by her son-in-law, David Huegel; siblings, Josephine (Clarence) Schmiegelow, Olga (Cliff) Hantak, Fredrick (Edna) Goos, Arthur Goos, Theodore Goos, Wilbert (Lucille) Goos, Herbert (Carol) Goos, Bonita (Wilbur) Heidzig, Walter Goos; special friend Carl Mohr. Adeline is survived by her children, Robert (Verleen) Kuhlmann, Sharon Huegel (Doug) Hoschouer, Charles (Teresa) Kuhlmann; 7 grandchildren, 13 great grand-children and 2 great, great grandchildren, sister-in-law, Joy Goos; many nephews and nieces, friends too numerous to mention. Funeral Services will be held at the Peace Lutheran Church in McCook on Saturday, December 14, 2019 at 10:30 am with Pastor Lonnie Felcher. Interment will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery of McCook. Visitation will be held on Friday from 10:00 AM until 7:00 PM. The family will be present to greet friends from 5:00 until 7:00 PM. Friends may leave on-line condolences at herrmannfh.com.
