Addison Kathleen Samuelson-Carbaugh,19 years old of Cambridge, gained her angel wings in the early morning hours on July 26, 2017 at the Tri-Valley Hospital in Cambridge, NE.

Addison was born on April 4th, 1998 in Holdrege, NE. Addison was baptized on August 9, 1998 at Bethel Lutheran Church in Holdrege. She went to kindergarten at Washington Elementary in Holdrege. She moved with her mom to Cambridge before 1st grade. As a child she played softball, and participated in swim team, gymnastics, and dance. She was confirmed on April 15, 2012 at Trinity United Methodist Church in Cambridge. She continued growing in her faith through youth group and attending church. Addison participated in volleyball, basketball, track and her favorite sport, golf, in High School. She was a member of FBLA, student council, Circle of Friends, National Honor Society, Art Club, played the flute, and was Cheerleader Captain her sophomore year. Addison was chosen as Homecoming Queen and was very humbled and honored by this. She especially loved her crown! She graduated from Cambridge High School in 2016. Addison was attending University of Nebraska at Lincoln and pursuing a degree in Elementary Education. She worked at Home Depot in Lincoln and was lifeguard/assistant manager at the Cambridge Pool during her summers.

Addison was adopted by the UNK Girls Basketball team in 2014. Addison enjoyed being part of the team and getting to know Coach Chaney and the girls. She participated in Relay for Life in Furnas County for the last 5 years.

Addison loved travel and adventure! She explored many amazing places including swimming with the dolphins in Florida, visiting the White House in Washington D.C., scuba diving in Bora Bora, skiing in Wyoming, taking a cruise to Mexico, visiting the Alamo and Grand Canyon, and climbing the Eiffel Tower in Paris. Addison loved all things Disney and enjoyed visiting the parks in Florida, California, and Paris. She was fortunate to go on a Sunshine Kids trip to California and a Make-a-Wish trip to Bora Bora. She loved Spongebob, Harry Potter, Hippos, Black Friday Shopping with her mom, Jessica, late night dance parties with Dad, Jerry, Starbucks green tea, holidays, and living life! Addisons Mom was her best friend and she loved being with her more than anything.

Addisons motto was "Be Brave". She battled brain cancer twice in the last five years and never has there been a stronger more courageous person. She was a rule follower and truly wanted to inspire others to make a difference in the world. Her smile was infectious and she was a bright light to all who loved and knew her.

Addison is greatly loved and will be missed by her parents: Jessica & Jerry Carbaugh and brother Preston of Cambridge. Adam & Jeni Samuelson and siblings Taeylor, Luke, and Samantha of Axtell. Grandparents: Bernard & Judy Woodside of Holdrege, Gayle & Patsy Kelly of Cambridge, Kent & Diane Samuelson of Loomis, Dan & Dawn Sanders of Kearney. Great Grandmother Caroline Olesen of Holdrege. Aunts and Uncles: Kim & Terry Tvrdy of Central City, Ross & Traci Woodside of Johnson Lake, Jim Covey of North Platte, Jason Kelly of Cambridge, Chris and Drew Carbaugh of Holdrege, Andy and Henny Samuelson of Holdrege, Sean & Amy Rademaker of Holdrege. Godmothers: Jenny Wasenius, Elisa Marshall, & Rachel Vonderfect, Godsons Ayden Woodside & Zebadiah Johannes. Special Extra Set of Parents: Lori & Adam Cribelli of Cambridge. Many cousins and friends and her special furry dog Koby.

Is now reunited with her Great Grandparents: Chester & Katherine Quincy, Axel & Rosa Woodside, E.L. & Bonnie Samuelson, Dorothy Tumbleson and Ole Olesen. Grandfather Jerry M. Carbaugh. Uncles: Matthew Sorenson & Jeremy Carbaugh.

Visitation will be Friday, July 28th 9:00am - 7:00pm at Lockenour-Jones Mortuary in Cambridge, Nebraska. The family will be present from 5:00 - 7:00pm Funeral Services will be held at Trinity United Methodist Church in Cambridge on Saturday, July 29, 2017 at 10:30 am. Interment will be at the Fairview Cemetery in Cambridge.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in Addisons name.
