Aaron Leigh Schmidt

Aaron Leigh Schmidt of McCook passed away Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at Community Hospital. He was 44 years old. Aaron was born on May 10, 1972 at McCook to parents, Myron Leigh and Carolyn Ruth (Swayne) Schmidt. He graduated from McCook High School in 1992 and continued his education at Wyoming Tech in Laramie, Wyoming in auto body work. On May 7, 2004 Aaron was united in marriage to Misty Yost in McCook. To this union two children, Izabella and Nathaniel was born. Aaron worked in various jobs including, construction, John Deere, farming, plumbing work, and over the road truck driver, until his health would not permit him to work. Aaron loved his children and the time spent with them. He volunteered as an assistant swim coach with the YMCA for his childrens swim team. He loved taking bike rides with his children and taking them to Railroad Fests. He also enjoyed a good game of pool with his friends. Preceding him in death were his father, Myron Schmidt; maternal grandparents, Glen and Helen Swayne; and paternal grandparents, Monroe and Mae Schmidt. Survivors include his children, Izabella and Nathaniel of the home; mother, Carolyn Schmidt of McCook; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins; Misty Schmidt mother of Izabella and Nathaniel; and a host of friends. Memorials may be given in his name. Visitation will be Sunday, January 22, 2017, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., the family will be present from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Herrmann Jones Funeral Chapel in McCook. Friends may send condolences to the family at www.herrmannfh.com Funeral service will be Monday, January 23, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the Congregational Church in McCook with Rev.
